Four cups, one line. On Seder night four cups are filled, each with its own meaning, all in a fixed sequence. That rhythm has become a form.

Four slender chalices stand in a row on a shared base. Around the base a broad folded band winds in a calm spiral, rising, sinking and closing the circle. The chalices stay upright and still, the fold carries the movement. The result is a rhythm of repetition and line.

The sculpture takes up the occasion and does not depend on it. On a shelf, sideboard or desk it remains a composed object to display and collect.

Making Each piece is made to order. Designed and made in Frankfurt am Main, built up layer by layer from PLA. Fine layer lines are part of the process and quietly trace the form. That makes each one a piece of its own: subtle differences in tone, surface and layer pattern are part of it and make it unmistakably individual. The wood effect comes from wood fibres in the PLA (wood-fill); the material is not solid wood.

Care and safety

  • PLA softens with heat: keep below 50 °C, so no car dashboard, no dishwasher, no direct hot sun
  • Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth
  • Decorative item, not a toy, not food-safe
